Helping Relationships:

Moms Matter – provide a celebration basket for moms who reunite with their children.

□ Thanksgiving Grace – provide food for a Thanksgiving holiday event for children in care and their birth families.

□ Our Story – as a seasoned or retired foster parent, guide a new foster parent through making of a Life Book with their child.

Life Support – mentor youth in foster care to become confident, successful young adults. All volunteers must:

  • commit to contacting their youth twice per month for as long as the youth remains in foster care;
  • pass an extensive national background check;
  • submit monthly progress reports

Tutor – tutor children and youth in foster care to improve their grade level abilities. Volunteers commit to weekly contact (face-to-face or check-up call) and must pass an extensive national background check.

Guardian ad Litem or CASA – be a child’s advocate during court hearings. Opportunities with partner agencies vary according to the state you live in. Search on the web for your local organization.

Caring as a Community:

Ambassador – become an FGI Ambassador and speak to your community about changing the lives of children in foster care.

□ Care2Foster – learn more about becoming a foster parent.

□ Carry On – host a corporate luggage drive for children who move around with garbage bags.

Donate – FGI runs on the generosity of our donors, from $20 to $10,000. Consider a monthly gift.

Fundraise – raise funds through your workplace, religious, community group, or gathering of friends.

Speak Up – advocate with others for improved policies in foster care.

□ Sponsorship – become a corporate sponsor for our annual benefit.
